What is a Crystal Grid?

A crystal grid involves the act of physically putting an array of stones together in a symmetrical pattern to amplify the metaphysical properties of each crystal. Crystal grids, together with the user’s set intentions, are thought to channel the properties of the stone and release an energetic frequency. The user will then be able to absorb the palpable energy that is said to fulfil the set intentions and set the energy of the space.

How to set up a Crystal Grid?

Step 1: Set your intention

Intentions set the tone and give structure to any crystal grid. The user can write their intentions on a piece of paper, fold it up and set it in the center of the grid.

Alternatively, depending on the user’s preference, he or she can also keep their intention in their thoughts during the crafting of the grid. For example “I am ready to let go of my past wounds and embrace new love”.

Step 2: Choose your crystals

Just like everything else in the universe, each crystal has their own unique vibration from the way their atoms and molecules move and interact. The user can take some time to find out more about crystals that resonate with and support their intention, or tap into their intuition by following their heart and choosing the crystals that call out to them.

Examples of crystals to include for…

Abundance: Citrine, Amber, Jade, Green Aventurine
Love: Rose Quartz, Emerald, Clear Quartz
Peace and Calm: Amethyst, Malachite, Moonstone, Clear Quartz
Truth: Blue Kyanite, Emerald, Obsidian, Clear Quartz
Protection: Black Tourmaline, Tiger Eye, Obsidian, Clear Quartz
Manifestation: Red Jasper, Garnet, Clear Quartz

Pro-tip: Since Clear Quartz is known to be a great amplifier of metaphysical properties of other crystals, it is suitable to be in most crystal grids.

Step 3: Pick a Grid Shape

Different geometrical shape hold different meaning and the term “sacred geometry” used to describe crystal grids refer to the shapes that best describes the universal design of life.

Common Crystal Grid Types

1. Seed of Life

A simple crystal grid composing of 7 overlapping circles, making it one of the most versatile patterns. It represents a fresh start and is ideal for balance, healing and cleansing.

2. Flower of Life

An extension of the Seed of Life, the Flower of Life is a lot more advanced, where it consists of more geometrical patterns. It represents personal growth, confidence and self-belief. As such, the Flower of Life is a great tool for manifestation.

Step 4: Get Creative!

Begin placing your crystals on the preferred grid pattern while keeping your intention in mind. Activate your grid by placing your main master crystal in the middle of the grid. Work your way to place the other remaining crystals in an interval pattern.

Pro-tip: Should your crystals have points (ie. tower-shaped), ensure that they are faced outwards, away from the centre. Doing so allows the crystals’ energy to flow towards the remainder crystals in the grid, and therefore, the user.

Location of Crystal Grid

According to Feng Shui Masters, the placement of crystals would depend on the user’s intention and the Bagua areas of the home.

For example, if one would want to activate the energy of an Abundance crystal grid, the South-East area of the home (or the Wealth and Prosperity area) would be a great location. It could also be just the in the user’s work or study room.
