There is no straightforward way of determining if the Chrysocolla is dyed but generally having only blue and green colors and no browns is one of the signs of it being dyed. Taking a close look at the Malachite in this piece, you can see the distinctive swirls and bands of Malachite, and the texture of genuine Malachite is very smooth as opposed to 'foamy' or 'airy'. Additionally, take a look at the cracks on the piece. If it is dyed, there will be a build-up of color within the cracks. Lastly, if the crystal is dyed, it will also fade in color or the color will run after wiping with alcohol.
